Creating Kindness Blog Hop

As it’s the 1st Thursday of the month, it’s time again for the Creating Kindness Blog Hop. Our special guest this month is the talented Eva Dobilas of I Love To Stamp. I am sure Eva has a fabulous project for you today along with the rest of the Creating Kindness Design Team with the theme of Landscapes. The theme can be interpreted in many ways, like a beautiful landscape painting, a beach, a tropical forest or a garden scene. A landscape will have perspective with a foreground and a background.

If you’re following the hop already, you would have arrived here from With A Bow On Top by Lou Kitzelman. I just love her project and Lou’s take on this theme is genius 🙂 For me, I opted for a scene using sponging and masking techniques as well as the new Free As A Bird stamp set.

Free As A Bird Silhouette Landscape

Barry and I are still on our cruise in Norway, seeing wonderful sceneries and I thought it would be great to create a mountain landscape with the birds for the foreground to create perspective.

This silhouette landscape was achieved by sponge braying Flirty Flamingo and Pacific Point on the card layer. I then used torn paper and sponge dauber to apply Night of Navy ink for the mountains.

My first prototype with the stamped birds in Memento Tuxedo Black, I finished to create this 2nd card. I added a bit more detail with the fussy cut flowers, leaves and sentiment as well as the new Very Vanilla Scalloped Lace Trim.

This card has got cleaner image outlines especially for the birds’ legs and branches but you can see the birds’ details when blacked out with the Dark Basic Black blends marker.
